TURMERIC - Curcuma
Native to India, turmeric is a perennial plant of the Zingiberacae family whose name comes from Sanskrti: kunkuma, meaning which gives colour.
The roots or rhizomes of the plant have been used since ancient times reduced in powder as a spice in Indian cuisine, among others. The turmeric selected by Dammann Frères is cut into pieces and to be prepared as a hot drink like herbal tea. As a unique ingredient, it delivers an orange-yellow liquor to the infusion, sweet and light, with a warm and slightly peppery flavor.
