Tea from Japan - Shincha Oku Yutaka - box of 50 g
This rare tea was handcrafted in a "Chabeya", literally meaning Cha: Tea and Beya: Room. This is a room next to producer's house where the tea will be manufactured right after the harvest.
This is quite special knowing that today the majority of tea factories in Japan are managed by cooperatives where teas are brought by multiple producers. Oku Yutaka is a hybrid (recorded in 1983) between Yutaka Midori and F1NN8 cultivar. Rich in amino acid, this cultivar provides the tea a frank Umami flavor.
This is a craftsman's tea, produced in small quantities with real expertise. It is with great pleasure that we offer this Shincha this year both for the quality of the lot but also because this type of processing method is becoming rare in Japan. A tea that will seduce you with its sweetness and smooth texture. Able to convince even the most skeptics!
