This wonderful spring green tea is produced in Fujian Province, south of Mount Wuyi in the Jiangshi Nature Reserve. Its name, Xue Ya, which literally means ‘Snow Bud’, is very ancient, as its existence is documented in records dating back to the Ming Dynasty in the 15th century.Hand-picked at an altitude of 600 to 800 metres in the heart of a plantation, on a plot measuring just 700 square metres, its leaves, adorned with buds covered in silvery down, have been processed using traditional methods. The infusion yields a beautiful pale apricot-coloured liquor with fresh aromas and the elegant, subtle fragrance of orchids. A delicate, mellow cup with the vegetal and floral notes characteristic of Fujian spring teas, offering a pleasant, lingering finish without any bitterness.
